My friend Ilkka Taipale, a Doctor of Medicine, former Member of Parliament, activist, pacifist and, above all, a great humanist, wanted me to make a boy calendar of him as a gift for his wife.

The calendar and its photographs became a great success. Copies travelled around the world, and the photographs were shown in several exhibitions. Some of them eventually found their way into the collection of a psychiatric hospital museum.
